1313 spectators had found their way to :-), despite the heavy rain. Ingmar Heuber was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Stanislav Matrenin. The match took place on neutral ground. Holzis decided to use a 5-2-3 set up. The following players had been chosen: Bik - Hänel, Agiato, Danebaev, Birkhuhn, Holverda - Pezzali, Ragnhult - Jokela, Schiebel, Valencia.

Viertel-Stund had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. They fielded: Schrauff - Martins, Martínez Forja - Mastino, Lim, Temporelli, Mens, Winter - Hackett, Gašparík, Sas.

Holzis were relying on their mythical ability to counter-attack. Many thought Thys Holverda ought to have been awarded a penalty 5 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around Elmo Schrauff after a determined run through the middle. After 30 minutes, the Holzis coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Matthias Schiebel off the field. Władysław Misterka took his place. Natale Pezzali made one of his many fine passes from the wing into the middle 31 minutes into the match. Hernán Valencia bravely attempted to execute a diving header and the ball was met firmly with his forehead for Holzis. 1 - 0. Pablo Martínez Forja made a run for the goal 32 minutes into the game but the home team's left back managed to sort the situation out in the end. Holzis showed their counterattack skill 33 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with Władysław Misterka scoring uncontested for 2 - 0. With 34 minutes played, David Winter of Viertel-Stund fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Pierpaolo Agiato, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. Won-Sang Lim didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. The visitors got a chance to pull one back after 36 minutes, as the home defence went to sleep, leaving Samuel Hackett completely unmarked in the middle. His strike was pathetic though, and dribbled into the arms of the home side's keeper. It was 2 - 0 at the break. Viertel-Stund claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

Viertel-Stund fought on and, after 52 minutes, Won-Sang Lim was able to reduce the deficit to 2 - 1 after some excellent moves on the right side were finished off with an incredibly clever chip. 66 minutes in, Holzis's Władysław Misterka received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as Viertel-Stund's Samuel Hackett put the ball in the onion bag after 67 minutes to make it 2 - 2. Holzis's Hernán Valencia tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Holzis fans held their breath as Natale Pezzali scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 3 - 2! Possession in this half belonged to Viertel-Stund, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

The most dominating Holzis player was without a doubt Hernán Valencia. Jorrit Hänel was a disappointment, however. Most important Viertel-Stund player was Won-Sang Lim. On the other hand, David Winter's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 2.
