Dark skies made the crowd of 3208 at Repland Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Szilveszter Szoboszlai was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Josep Beltran and Ozoemena Baguidi. The match took place on neutral ground. FC-CASTELLA tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Fiolet - Fujimura, Boisseau, Rosekrans - Pescina, Macé, Boursin, Barrera, Aude - Batisse, Borg.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Schwäbisch. The following players had been chosen: Kutyło - Biehl, Veckenstedt, Puebla - Freiler, Bernhart, Kancsó, Kirlum, Valmoggia - Eilders, Fibicher.

31 minutes in, Schwäbisch's Philibert Freiler received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Slack defending gave FC-CASTELLA a chance to take the lead with 32 minutes played, but Pierre-Yves Boisseau's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. FC-CASTELLA could have put themselves ahead after 37 minutes but Julien Batisse missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. It was 0 - 0 at the break. Schwäbisch claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

51 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Schwäbisch substitution. Frederic David Morell came on for Casper Biehl. Yoshiyuki Fujimura would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. 包 (Bao) 偌彪 (Ruobiao) entered the game for FC-CASTELLA as the match clock showed 55 minutes. After 56 minutes, the Schwäbisch coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Timo Eilders off the field. Jochem van der Maar took his place. After a fine move down the middle Pietro Pescina nearly gave the home side a goal after 56 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. After 61 minutes, Joakim Fibicher sent the corner kick right to Jochem van der Maar who headed it sharply past the keeper. 0 - 1! The Schwäbisch players could smell victory in the air. Arne Kirlum wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Martin Čechlovský after 65 minutes. The Schwäbisch captaincy was handed to Joakim Fibicher. 67 minutes into the game a free kick by Joakim Fibicher found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making Schwäbisch's lead 0 - 2. Schwäbisch increased their lead after 75 minutes when Philibert Freiler broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. With 80 minutes played, Schwäbisch put themselves up 0 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Sándor Kancsó. Confident in their lead, Schwäbisch's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. After 82 minutes, Schwäbisch sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached Sándor Kancsó, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 5. The home crowd was not impressed when Martin Čechlovský came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 84 minutes. Schwäbisch were now up 0 - 6. Schwäbisch had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.

FC-CASTELLA's top performer was clearly Julien Batisse. However, Fabrice Fiolet made a disastrous appearance. Most important Schwäbisch player was Joakim Fibicher. On the other hand, Félix Puebla's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 6.
