A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 3134 to CrookOzofs Arena. Ludwig Pfeifer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sebastian Mehl and Umberto Catellini. CrookOzofs started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Jarrett - Hugener, Glendenning, Tierney - Simões, Stott, Tessier, O'Sullivan, Plevin - Traynor, van Hanegem.

The kiwis had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation. Lineup: Jovanović - Naić, Mezey, Wietecha, Ringelnatz - 宝民 (Baomin), Casadei, Faya'a - Dieu, 恩邦 (Enbang), Baryś.

The kiwis clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their extra-terrestrial level with that tactic. After 19 minutes, Aidan Plevin came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving CrookOzofs the lead. Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile Mathieu Dieu. CrookOzofs put in a good effort on the right, but Sjeng van Hanegem saw his volley fly wide of the mark 26 minutes into the game. The kiwis were able to mount several counterattacks, such as the impressive one after 27 minutes, but Mateusz Wietecha lofted a free kick over the crossbar. Always quick and a menace to his opponents, Benjamim Simões was very close to getting through after 32 minutes, but he could only put the ball into the keeper's arms. Aidan Plevin could have put CrookOzofs up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 34 minutes. 35 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Emmet Tierney broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for CrookOzofs. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. CrookOzofs had most of the ball, with 69 percent of possession.

A great save by keeper Bogdan Jovanović after 58 minutes kept the visitors in the game after Aidan Plevin struck from the left with a real cannonball. The The kiwis players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. The The kiwis coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy. Ivan Tessier wanted to play on, but the CrookOzofs coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 60 minutes into the game by Lee Butler. With Ivan Tessier no longer on the pitch, Sjeng van Hanegem became the new set pieces taker. Aidan Plevin was the new captain of CrookOzofs - handed the armband by the departing player. The coach of CrookOzofs was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 60 minutes, Henning Loew came on for Paul Traynor. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 61 minutes, CrookOzofs did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, Jackson Stott was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 3 - 0. CrookOzofs put themselves up 4 - 0 when Benjamim Simões broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. At this point, it was obvious that the players of CrookOzofs lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. The sunny day didn't make things easy for Salvatore Casadei who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch. The kiwis needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 80 minutes Arkadiusz Baryś made way for Adalmasio Aventuroso. Possession in this half belonged to CrookOzofs, who controlled the ball 70 percent of the time.

The most dominating CrookOzofs player was without a doubt Sjeng van Hanegem. Henning Loew turned in a dismal performance, however. The kiwis's top performer was clearly Mathieu Dieu. Naseem Faya'a was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 0.
