1400 spectators had come to Alfred-Kunze-Sportpark this cloudy day. Abdel Hassan Qadi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Lauge Ankjær and . Königshofen started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Genrich - Planegg, Aichter, Knörzer - Oitzl, Fleutjepiepen, Abt, Dressler, Baeckmann - Jusinger, Praml.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Ferdinandshof. The following players took the field: Le Bras - Szybkowski, O'Hara, Caudal - Bilzer, Vagasky, Beckenbauer, Bockelberg, Zaruba - Khvoynitskiy, Freller.

Königshofen clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their outstanding level with that tactic. The terraces were silenced after 12 minutes when Ferdinandshof's Yury Khvoynitskiy put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 18 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Ferdinandshof's Jarosław Szybkowski to one side and produced a red card for the player. Tim Abt showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 19 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 20 minutes into the match, and Eduardt Freller wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 1 - 2 for the visitors. 36 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 3 as Martin Alexander Zaruba finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 3. Ferdinandshof had most of the ball, with 61 percent of possession.

Ferdinandshof came close to extending their lead as Horst Vagasky delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 47 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. Königshofen played a good counterattacking move down the left 48 minutes into the match, with Timo Planegg finishing well for 2 - 3. The home crowd cheered when, after 55 minutes, Yury Khvoynitskiy's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. David O'Hara wanted to play on, but the Ferdinandshof coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 56 minutes into the game by Jens Segebrecht. David O'Hara was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that Kévin Caudal got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. Ferdinandshof's Jens Segebrecht was shown a yellow card after 58 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Timo Planegg was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so Königshofen's Simon Nerettig had to come off the bench. Torge Knörzer became the new Königshofen captain. Königshofen's Egon Praml made an attempt at equalising 60 minutes into the match, coming in from the right, but the ball hit the post and the defence easily cleared the rebound. Ferdinandshof's Albuin Bilzer made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 62 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Ferdinandshof, with 66 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Königshofen player was without a doubt Egon Praml. Reinhold Baeckmann on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Ferdinandshof player was Eduardt Freller. However, Jimmy Le Bras made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 3.
