Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 4836 at QuiCeJoco Arena today. John Allan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Linus Oving. The match took place on neutral ground. Schwäbisch had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Kutyło - Biehl, Puebla - Freiler, Bernhart, Veckenstedt, Kancsó, Valmoggia - van der Maar, Eilders, Fibicher.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Gutierrez. They fielded: Pengsapha - Andrade, Venâncio, Moskała, Alexander - Volpi, Sander, Mota, Itaipu - Ortiz, Zavaglia.

Gutierrez clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their mythical level with that tactic. 27 minutes into the game, a swerving free kick by Joakim Fibicher almost resulted in the home team taking the lead, but the shot glanced harmlessly off the frame of the goal. The goal to make it 0 - 1 was scored by Jair Sander after 28 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Gutierrez. 33 minutes in, Schwäbisch's Casper Biehl received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Joakim Fibicher made a superb strike after 35 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. The referee showed Gutierrez's Carlos Renato 'Careca' Alexander the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. João Andrade of Gutierrez received a yellow card after 40 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Gutierrez's Dejchana Pengsapha had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 41 minutes having been played. Paolo Bozzer was the replacement. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Schwäbisch had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

Timo Eilders's speed was clear to see after 53 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released Jochem van der Maar who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 1 - 1. Schwäbisch created a good opportunity to score 54 minutes into the match when Jochem van der Maar's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. Schwäbisch broke through on the left 58 minutes into the game, with Tullio Valmoggia firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 2 - 1 lead. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Timo Eilders from Schwäbisch a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 73 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Content with how the game was proceeding, the Schwäbisch coach let Arne Kirlum replace Justin Veckenstedt after 75 minutes. Gutierrez almost scored after a swift counterattack 79 minutes into the game, but Diego Mota put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. Schwäbisch claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.

The most dominating Schwäbisch player was without a doubt Timo Eilders. On the other hand, Casper Biehl's play was disheartening. Most important Gutierrez player was Michel Zavaglia. Evair Volpi on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 1.
