Achievements – Get them all

The beauty of hattrick is there are so many ways one can approach it. For me, it was the achievements. I always wanted to grab the top spot in our country, and after so many seasons, finally I realized my dream. Here I share my story.

First thing first. Those who don’t know me, I am the manager of Jaguars(1679559). I have been playing hattrick for some time now. But this is not my first team. I actually used to play with another team but for some personal reason I had to quit. But I couldn’t stay away from hattrick for long.

But when I started with this team, I already had forgot the pain and endurance one has to go through at the beginning. I was a little frustrated with all the work I had to do from the scratch. Didn’t have any money, not a single decent player in the squad and the YA kept spitting out painstakingly ugly players. I started to lose interest in the game and hardly logged in. My team started to fall apart and there was even a time when there weren’t enough fit players for the starting eleven. But as I had to spend next to nothing, my bank balance kept growing. To make sure I am at least giving proper training to my trainees, I started buying some players. I had no intention of being competitive, so went after players which will cost virtually nothing. Turned out it is actually quite easy to get 17 years old players for 50,000 tk. I filled my team with these 17 year old rejects. Next week I notice that I got the “Youthful Lineup” achievement (The average age of your starting lineup is below 18). It was a nice surprise. I never had this achievement with my previous team. I guess that is when I started to focus on getting achievement points.

Subsequently, next week I bought some really old players and got the “Veteran lineup” achievement (The average age of your starting lineup is over 35). I was a little surprised to see how easy it was. I never expected to find so many old players in the transfer market. At this time I turned my eyes to the most dreaded and hard achievements – ‘the special awards’ (these are based on average personality of the team). Unlike youthful lineup and veteran lineup, the special awards are based on your whole team. It is really difficult to find perfect players to get the four special awards. I had to lose all players. Some of them I sold, most of them I fired. And then kept buying player with the right characteristics. It took a months worth of work to get the “nice squad” achievements.

After I got the first special award I focused on academy lineup as by this time I had a lot of youth players coming out of my YA. I didn’t bother about their skills, just wanted to make sure I can promote them as young as possible. Once I got the ‘academy lineup’ I brought my focus back to the special awards. Slowly but surely I got all four of them.

In the mean time my bank balance kept growing and suddenly I realized that I had the richest club in our country. But still I was far away from ‘met bob at the bank’ achievement (Bought at least 1 bonds at Banque Sunesson). To be honest, among all achievements, this was the hardest one to get. It is not easy to get 3 billion in your accounts. It took me almost a year of skill trading to finally get to the mark.

Introduction of platinum made it possible for the 'Join my revolution' with 500 members possible (Founded federation, gained at least X members). I don’t know if it will ever be possible to get this achievement with such ease any longer as the fed that helped to get this achievement is dead now. For the rest of the achievements it is self-explanatory and quite straight forward to achieve.

Some achievements are really easy to get while others are almost impossible to get. Some you will get automatically and for some you have to make a long term plan. Some achievement requires you to make your team as strong as possible while for some you need to give up any chance of being competitive. But whatever it is, once you get through the whole list, it is a great feeling. And because the massive cash one has to build up in the process, it is really easy to get back in the game once it is over.
