Happy Birthday, Hattrick!

30th August 1997. Or, otherwise said: The day when everything started. It is the day when Hattrick was launched and, since then, the history is still getting written.

But where are we right now? Well, it's 20 years later, in 2017 and, in all this period, a lot of extraordinary things happened through this wonderful game - there are friendships that will last forever, a lot of memories regarding matches, trophies, forum topics and a lot of HT-Meetings.

For this special event, now I would like to invite you on reading an interview with some of the longevous users from this lovely community. Happy Birhday, Hattrick! :)

1. What keeps you in Hattrick for such a long period already?

I would say that the biggest factor in it would be two things. The camaraderie that we have in our Philippine community, and the overall quest to have the best team that I could create (and one that the HT-gods would be pleased).

2. How did you see the Hattrick itself at the beginning and how do you see it right now?

Back then, game wise, it was a given that midfield is king. Now, random dominates a lot of the results. Even I have been both beneficiary, and on the losing end of the effects of random.

3. How much the person in real life (you) has changed through this period?

Since then I have:
- grown 6 inches taller, maybe gained 60 lbs in the process;
- finished studies;
- played in a semi-pro league for a couple of years;
- obtained football coaching license;
- started working in the aviation industry, and allowed me to travel and meet several of you guys around the world;
- married the love of my life.

1. A bit of a desire to deal with others and also a little bit the habit.

2. At first, it was a very nice novelty. Now, it is much more complete.

3. Have passed a few years. The most beautiful thing is the friendships I have made through Hattrick. I'm in contact with people from various countries.

Thanks, Hattrick!

1. I am just keeping my team in case I want to play the game competitively in the future.

2. For me, it was more enjoyable before than it is now. Right now, I don't have enough time to study the new game play about how much it changed since 12 years ago.

3. I met fellow Hattrick managers in real life and we became good friends outside this game.

1. My team has a sentimental value to me - and Klaudiu (4162713) or markdv who contacts me just on time when my team's about to get botified.

2. Hattrick was super fun at the start because I have schoolmates in college playing it also. We were around 10-15 guys and even organized cup tourneys between us (using friendlies).
Now I am the only one left and, although I have good friends in the Pinas HT community, it feels kind of lonely. My schoolmates and me thought we will grow old in HT, but gradually everyone got occupied in RL.

3. Not much. I'm still simple, but "adulting" is not as easy as I thought it should be.
