Daddycool1 gets accosted for an interview

Daddycool1 is grabbed outside New Look and forced by the Ed to answer some probing questions about his unusual team names and alcoholic beverages??

1.Starting with the usual one - what got you interested in Hattrick and how long have you been playing?
My brother used to play the game with a few lads from work and he mentioned to me and I got hooked, 2005 I believe.

2.How on earth did you pick such an unusual team name (Soup sandwich)? Is there a story behind it? Also, where did The Martyrs come from?
The name soup sandwich came from a joke a guy I used to work with said about something being shapeless like a soup sandwich, thought it was funny and an ironic name for my team. I’m from Merthyr Tydfil and The Martyrs are their nickname, google 1988 when they won the Welsh cup and beat Atalanta from Italy in European cup winners cup game, I believe there's a DVD you can buy.

3. Soup Sandwich have just come down from II. Can you get straight back up and is there a chance you could make the Prem?
Training the future NT goalkeeper for the soup and I have an u20 defender too, hope to bounce straight back up to II and then will hope to just stay up, been up 4 times and always come straight back down.

4.I seemed to have missed an obvious question, what’s your favourite alcoholic beverage?
Either a pint of Reverand James (brains beer) or a pint of Peroni.

5.As both your teams play in Wales do you treat them any differently? Is Soup Sandwich always the one you want in the Prem while the Martyrs league position is less important (e.g. training for U20/NT players)?
Soup were always my team to get up to prem and the martyrs became my NT project, now I have established NT players I want the martyrs to make II finally, then who knows, be a travesty if JTL Adams doesn't get to play in prem.

6. Real Life questions - I definitely get the Cardiff City / Wales supporter listed on your team page but why Barcelona & Man Utd? Also, do you get to go to any Cardiff games or just watch on tv?
Followed Man Utd when in school and went to see them 3 occasions, I was born in Cardiff though and since 1999-2012 went to watch them regularly, was season ticket holder for 5 years, I just love the way Barca play their football and I've been to the nou camp in 2001.

7.Aside from football (real or HT) do you find the time for other hobbies/interests and what are they?
I'm a family man and spend time with my wife and daughter (10), I also love socialising with my friends and have recently moved home and organise social events on my new build site.

8.Having been to a previous social I know you’re keen on another. Do you think Cardiff is the right place to hold one or can you think of anywhere else we should have one? (e.g. Swansea, Newport or even in England). Also, would you venture to an English social if there was one close enough ( e.g. Bristol)
Cardiff is a great location but would like to take you to a few other pubs next time and yes maybe try Bristol for 2019?

9.I noticed from you profile you’ve listed ‘family man’. Could you tell us a bit about the family? Have you opened the real life ‘youth academy’ yet and could they be playing Hattrick in future?
I spend a lot of time with my family and we go on lots of trips and holidays together, unfortunately I send them to sleep when I talk about Hattrick.

10. So, since you called the team ‘Soup sandwich’ what’s your favourite flavour of soup? ..and favourite sandwich?
My fave sandwich either BLT or I love a subway melt or spicy Italian. Regarding soup, minestrone or my wife's homemade carrot and coriander.

At this point Daddycool1 and the Ed wondered what the hell they were doing hanging around outside New Look and nipped off for a nice pint of Reverend James
