The Three Kings

Once upon a time, a club was languishing in the bottom tiers of Maltese football, bankrupt and only making money by selling hot dogs (bought cheap due to long-gone expiry date) after the local altar boys' Friday Night Disco. The players donning the shirt did it with pride but were finding it hard to make ends meet especially the captain who had to juggle his footballing duties with his part-time job at the zoo...feeding the monkeys. The youth team was also in shambles as they were finding it difficult to find enough players to line-up for the match, so the cheerleaders had to play too (not that our boys were disappointed with the decision). The ground was also a disaster resembling more a war zone than a stadium since to make costs meet, it was also used as a home for stray dogs, cats and the occasional drunk local who thinks he's eligible to join the gang.

That was, until a new era dawned upon the club when the Three Kings arrived.

Henry Aquilina (203130997)

Was bought from Balzan Bruisers way back in 23/05/2008 for the mere price of just 950,000E. He has scored 8 goals in competitive matches for the club whilst also scoring 1 goal for the U/20 team in a friendly from a total of 26 caps!

Without any doubt, the hottest defender on the block. Just look at his John Travolta pulled back orange hairstyle. Pity he broke his nose twice (falling off bed and in a bust up with dida01) and that's the reason for the permanent deformed shape. Henry is well known to be very pleasant, calm and honest (except for when he was caught red handed lying it was not him that gave Godwin Filletti the beating of his life). He is halfway through (or more) to becoming world class while he has already reached outstanding experience. His leadership abilities and commanding poisture has also led him to become the undoubted captain and leader of the current U/20 squad. His technical superiorities also help in him gaining the edge over his teammates. His drawback is that he can only play a little more than half of the qualification matches but he has already promised to be present on the bench throughout all matches. Grande capitano!

John Pulis (211470792)

His transfer created a stir in those days. On 05/08/2008, Campioni FC sold their hottest prospect for a record 1,809,000E. He has found the net 3 times for his club but still has to break his duck for the U/20 team after making 15 appearances.

Pulis is courted by all the ladies in Malta due to his prominent Mediterranean looks and cut features. No wonder his teammate Fava has been trying to publicly ridicule him for ages but always managing to look like a fool himself with his childish actions. John is quite controversial, fiery and upright...which has lead to several headbutting incidents both on and off the pitch also due to him well know to have a very strong ability to head. He is outstanding in defence plus a few more weeks, but he is also famous for his passing and winger abilities. Even Roberto Carlos asked specifically for a signed shirt. He still needs some more experience but has already become inadequate at it. His is not a guaranteed starter (according to formation and tactics used) but he is one of the top substitutes and will give the other defenders a run for their money for a starting place in the U/20 team. C'e solo un Pulis, solo un Pulis!

Gary Abela (220447113)

Gary joined the club quite recently. After having an affair with the manager's wife at the Christmas party, Abela joined PaZzOmUtAnT Stars on 30/12/2008 for a record sum of 2,500,000E. He has scored 3 goals for his club whilst he has donned the U/20 shirt of his country 4 times without ever finding the net.

Gary Abela is a very symphatetic guy who is calm and righteous. In fact, the local parish priest had some very positive words about Abela, his current favourite altar boy. It may serve Filletti and Fava well to learn some manners from Abela if they want to achieve something in their life. Abela is halfway through to becoming brilliant in defence whilst possessing also very good winger skills. Experience wise, he needs to be paid more attention since he is still only wretched. Abela is not expected to play in the WC and is there as a backup and in case of a tremendous injury and form crises. Gary also finds himself uncomfortable showering with the rest of team, the stares and glances he gets from Ford disturb him greatly!
