Interesting things were happening earlier this week, as Polish team The Flaming Wodkas FC entertained Racing Winnebago in the Golden League.

Wodkas Chairman, Lord Bebbington, was seen talking with Winnebago manager Danni Budde and speculation was rife that the conversation centered around transfer-listed Winnebago striker, Davie 'The Viscount' Edler.

Lord Bebbington has overseen the restructuring of NYC Peregrines, and has said to have permitted Coach Boumann to identify other attacking talent alongside Edler.

Well, this was confirmed tonight with the signing of Dave 'Viscount' Edler and Walter 'Mago' Arcione! With a guaranteed first start tomorrow in the league, The Duckhawks can't wait and neither can we!

"Out with the old, out with the other, out with the unuseable... we'll see what remains. We have some quality young players on the TL right now, that we hope can continue their career to the highest level... it's just not where the club have decided we want to go.

Sure, it's frustrating. I'm the coach, and these guys have played an important role, but the board are telling me we're not heading in the right direction, so I have to look at things again.

We're examining what's in the youth academy very closely, and we'll set things up so that we can build on that. We'll give it a while, and see what happens.

Our chances in the league? Forget about leagues for now, whether we win them or lose them. This is about the long-term." - Coach B

Tomorrow, we take on bottom-of-the-pyramid NYC Peregrines in a Golden League tune-up. Following an incendiary interview by the Peregrines' manager, TPA chief Christopher Siebertz has a few thoughts about the match (http://hattrickunited.org/turtlepondarmada/2018/01/04/local-loudmouths-challenge-armada/)

Coach Brisko 'Fuhgeddaboudit' Boumann has taken a full swing at NYC rivals, Turtle Pond Armada in a recent Dynasty Blog article when he was interviewed by Brandon Woods, for Lord B's Blog.

In the article, Boumann holds no punches, and you can read the whole thing here: (http://hattrickunited.org/renaissancefc2011/2018/01/04/duckhawks-defiance/)

"Oh it was beautiful," said coach Boumann in a wintery car park as his team were getting back on the coach following their 2-1 win against Turtle Pond Armada, at a neutral central city sports arena. "We persevered against a team who placed 8 players on the goal-line, and that's excluding their keeper! Perhaps they'll have more respect for us now."

21:03 Vitesse Breukelen: Vitesse Off to Winning Ways in Season Opener

The score line read 2-0 at the final whistle on Sunday’s season home opener against Mustangs FC, but it was the underlying statistics that head coach Donovan Croy was most pleased with.

“I’m happy with the 3 points. Even happier for the clean sheet and our ability to limit the chances of our opponents. We struggled last season in this area and worked hard in the transfer market and training pitch to find more balance and defensive responsibility without the ball.” Said the former Vitesse striker, turned coach.

And it appears to have worked. Incoming players like Kruse, Hess and the powerful center-midfielder Bellosi, all bring exceptional defensive qualities for their age.

Bellosi especially impressed the crowd on his debut with his no-nonse tackles, high work-rate and flamboyant hair style. More than a few fans were spotted around Highland Park sporting wigs of his trademark afro – a trend that will no doubt grow along with his performances and popularity.
