Arco jr 0 - 4 ASM

233 people were spread out along the sidelines of Arconada stadium jr, the decent weather providing good conditions for soccer. The boys who got to play today were: Muñoz Ybarra - Ramah, Patiño - Sánchez, Kutunigietailunbe, Triana, Molsosa, Rivas - Cutanda, Peñalver, Rqiq.

The coach fielded the following talents: Philippe - Allain, Basset - Ould Fella, Fanget, Heurtaux, Praud, Benjamin - Girard, Louçã, Romary.

As the teams spread out over the pitch, it became clear that they would both be using a 2-5-3 formation today. Arco jr took a creative approach on the field. ASM demonstrated their creative tactics on the field. The coach thought Arturo Triana deserved a penalty shot after 2 minutes, as he was torn down by the visitors' keeper Éric Philippe after an attack through the middle. Alberto Muñoz Ybarra was beaming with pride after 8 minutes, as he dived full length and stopped a shot by the visitors' Marc Girard. Always a threat, fresh-faced Stéphane Benjamin tore past his marker and placed the ball right at the feet of the waiting Marc Girard who should have easily scored for ASM, but the ball went wide. The sparse home crowd was not entertained by the fancy moves of ASM's Vitorino Filipe Louçã after 16 minutes of the match. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, which meant the visitors were now in the lead, 0 - 1. ASM's Iskander Ould Fella was at the end of a play slashing through the home side's central defense 25 minutes in, and after a single touch, he chipped it over the keeper to score the 0 - 2 goal. The loyal few at the sidelines were not pleased with that one. Arco jr's Roger Molsosa breezed past his defender on their right side after 26 minutes and fired in a good looking shot - unfortunately for him, it went straight into the arms of the keeper! At the halftime break, the score was 0 - 2. Arco jr, bringing their ball possession to 56 percent, seemed most ambitious today.

With the match clock reading 46 minutes, the Arco jr coach still hoped to turn things around. Alfonso Rivas was ordered to assume a different position on the field. He took the place of Alberto Muñoz Ybarra, who in turn replaced his teammate. Maybe due to the uphill battle the team was facing, the Arco jr coach looked to change things around. After 46 minutes, Jorge Sánchez and Prudentzio Kutunigietailunbe swapped positions on the field. Still trailing on the scoreboard, and with defeat staring them in the face, Arco jr adjusted their tactics after 46 minutes. The coach and Rodrigo Cutanda had a quick chat on the sidelines, then he switched positions with Camilo Patiño. The bench was restless, and in minute 46 the coach gave Antoni Ginesta the opportunity he had been hoping for. Adnane Ramah reluctantly left the field. Roger Molsosa was handed the Arco jr captain's armband. Vitorino Filipe Louçã produced a fine header after that corner kick with 63 minutes on the clock. The ball was blocked by the goalie but was quickly snapped up by Jean-François Basset who scored the 0 - 3 goal for ASM. Marc Girard may have intended to cross the ball from the right to his waiting teammate in minute 75, but instead he ended up scoring a peach of a goal! The keeper had come out to punch it before the ball's curve put it right into the far corner, and it's 0 - 4. That's all, folks! The match ends 0 - 4. Arco jr pleased their coach greatly, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

The coach of Arco jr was especially pleased with Sergio Peñalver after the game. The coach took Alfonso Rivas aside after the game, telling him it is okay to have a bad day on the field as long as you keep trying. ASM's Marc Girard had a great game and was congratulated by his teammates. This boy could be going places! Jean-François Basset left the field with tears in his eyes, knowing he had been the worst player on his team.
