Dragoon 2 - 5 KSGB

A scorching day at Feuerhügel, where 12000 spectators were in place for today's match. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Conrad Sturm-Meister and Jesús Pablo Govea. After thorough analysis and consultation of astrological charts, Dragoon decided to go with a 4-4-2 formation. Starters: Ciornea - Wicklein, Voßmüller, Ryneš, Thorstedt - Linden, Menegazzi, , Mohammad - Coelho, Zapparoli.

The head coach flashed hand signals from the sideline and KSGB formed up in a 3-5-2 combination. Let's hope the opposing sideline wasn't filming that. The following players took the field: Holtan - Grauer, Vermeer, Bujoreanu - Bjerg, Razlog, Rúnason, Holt, Kanapienis - MacDonald, Hartikainen.

Using their excellent skill, Dragoon pushed their attacks towards the wings. The head of Tomas Zapparoli connected with a beautiful corner kick after 15 minutes. He wasn't shooting, though, but rather passing to Tibor Ryneš of Dragoon who buried the shot for 1 - 0. Pauli Hartikainen made a good effort at breaking through on the right, but the home team's left defense cleared the ball to the corner. It was obvious that Dragoon had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. Dragoon's Tibor Ryneš was delighted to score as he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing keeper and into the net, following some good attacking movement on the right wing. 2 - 0 after 19 minutes. The home team's fans were upset when, after 33 minutes, the visiting Krsto Razlog broke through the central defense and got the ball past the keeper. 2 - 1 was the score. Maybe Pauli Hartikainen should join the aquatics team instead. He went down dramatically after 35 minutes, crying out with agony as he fell. The referee was not impressed, though, and showed him a yellow for diving. The home team thought they were lucky after a brilliant strike from the right bounced off the crossbar 36 minutes in. Konrad Holt was first to react though, and leveled the game at 2 - 2. A particularly graphic suggestion to the referee describing what he could do with his turkey giblets led to a straight red card for Hilário Coelho. Andrei Lăpuşan did some final stretches before entering the game as KSGB's trainer helped Harvey MacDonald off the field after an injury. It was 2 - 2 at the break. The Count appeared on the jumbotron and announced that KSGB had 58...58 percent possession. AH AH AH!

With the clock showing 46 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. Franck Voßmüller looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for Maiquel Nuñez, though he would have liked to continue. KSGB's Krsto Razlog gave the visitors a 2 - 3 lead after 51 minutes with a superb strike from the right. The away team's Michailas Kanapienis took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 67 minutes increasing KSGB's lead to 2 - 4. KSGB's Krsto Razlog wanted to play on, but after 68 minutes the decision was made to give Bastian Weinaug a chance in his place. The KSGB players could smell victory in the air. Perry Vermeer wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Mattias Rodmo after 69 minutes. Jochen Linden didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play. Dragoon needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 75 minutes Teo Menegazzi made way for Robert Dyrflod. Jens Jørgen Bjerg somehow managed to break free of his man on the left wing and only needed a relatively easy finish to bring KSGB's lead up to 2 - 5. After this, you could see that KSGB's players were mostly interested in killing time and holding on to their lead. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Dragoon's Mauro was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the field after 80 minutes. Alex Antinoro was given a chance to change things around. The forty-five minutes were dominated by KSGB, with an impressive 57 percent possession of the ball.

Dragoon's best player was Hademar Wicklein. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because Maiquel Nuñez seemed to stumble all over the pitch. KSGB's top performer was clearly Pauli Hartikainen. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by Andrei Lăpuşan today. The match ends 2 - 5.
