The 19802 spectators at Gárdonyi Park were in for an afternoon of sunshine. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Michel Constans and Gianluca Rocchi. Gentlemen prefer blondes and Csillagok prefers a 3-5-2. Let's see how this plays out for them. Lineup: Higuera - Micović, Szánthó, Montvai - Goron, Szilágyi, Barreira, Pieron, Kendra - Vlaszák, Török.

Our studio analysts were correct. Single has taken the field in a 3-4-3 alignment. They fielded: Hartenholm - Speranzon, Betzenberg, Fényes - Yarritu, Blaha, Manzolini, Schindler - Safran, Lohiniva, Avrămescu.

Single clearly preferred using their outstanding ability to attack in the middle today. After 29 minutes, Single's Veli-Antti Lohiniva made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. Single's Bonke Betzenberg was shown a yellow card after 35 minutes for slicing down an opponent. László Török was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so Csillagok's László Balsay had to come off the bench. The visitors' Sever Avrămescu took advantage of a mix-up between the home side's goalie and center backs 37 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Single. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Single would have 60 percent possession in this half was spot on!

51 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 3 as Sever Avrămescu finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular bicycle kick. With 55 minutes played, Csillagok's João Pedro Barreira received a yellow card for challenging a play with his cleats first. Unfortunately for Single, Bonke Betzenberg was injured as the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. Mimmo Onnis replaced him. After a short break 60 minutes in, Single seemed to change their tactical approach a bit. Single's Rémi Safran received a ball slotted perfectly through the home side's central defense after 60 minutes, and chipped it past the helpless keeper to increase the lead to 0 - 4. The away fans won't regret traveling for this one! After 71 minutes, Single's Bruno Speranzon burst through the central defense and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 5. After this, you could see that Single's players were mostly interested in killing time and holding on to their lead. 82 minutes into the game, Single seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to passable. Lajos Fényes was, after 85 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the center, but the home side's keeper Víctor Higuera made the save. Csillagok's coach was furious with László Balsay after he picked up a yellow for saying one too many words to the ref. It wasn't a good day at all for Amancio Yarritu. His powerful style of play just didn't fit the bill on this warm day. After more pushing and shoving than a pack of helicopter moms trying to get the last appointment for their snowflakes to see the Easter Bunny, Single's Hynek Blaha finally got himself booked for a foul. Valdemar de Carvalho did some final stretches before entering the game as Csillagok's trainer helped Ádám Szilágyi off the field after an injury. As Csillagok's captain went off, he handed the armband to Hubert Pieron. Csillagok set the tempo, maintaining 51 percent of possession.

Csillagok's top performer was clearly João Pedro Barreira. I can't remember Ármin Goron ever having a worse night than he just had. Most important Single player was Sever Avrămescu. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because Bruno Speranzon seemed to stumble all over the pitch. The match ends 0 - 5.
