Betos 0 - 3 BZB

Weather conditions were fairly good for soccer, and Betos club Arena saw a turnout of 2683. Bayram Makul was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Diego Hernán Cid and Alfred Klukowski. The following players had been selected: Reccia - Cavia, Shuvalov, Hebenstreit - Gryglicki, Polo, Laine, Snels, Silos - Mänd, Bakrač.

Lineup: Domeracki - Acabado, Timić, Vonortas, Weiss - Biegański, Misterek, Bacza, Stypułkowski, Everist - Kolas.

Betos club trundled out to the pitch in a 3-5-2 formation. The visitors, Biało- Zieloni, chose to start the game with a 4-5-1 lineup. 6 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Betos to take the lead after a good ball from the right found Miško Bakrač alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. A poorly positioned wall on a free kick after 24 minutes allowed for BZB's Vladimir Timić to give the visitors the 0 - 1 lead. It was a fine day for Andrzej Biegański down the touchline, and his cross to Witold Stypułkowski 26 minutes in was executed especially well, but the keeper saved the ensuing shot. After 31 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Witold Stypułkowski who increased BZB's lead to 0 - 2. 37 minutes into the game, Betos's Giovanni Reccia rolled over in pain after taking a forceful blow to his upper chest. After bandaging his collarbone, the medics led him off the field. The replacement for the injured player was Carlos Fernando Araníbar. With 40 minutes played, Betos's Miško Bakrač received a yellow card for challenging a play with his cleats first. BZB's Julian Bacza hurt his back 41 minutes into the match, and had to be convinced by the medical team that it was safer not to continue the match. Włodzimierz Kułagowskitried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. The ball was in the back of the home team's net yet again after 42 minutes, but this time the referee called the goal back because Ambroży Weiss had knocked a member of the opposing team to the ground while the play occurred down the middle of the field. A particularly graphic suggestion to the referee describing what he could do with his turkey giblets led to a straight red card for Miguel Silos. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Betos would have 52 percent possession in this half was spot on!

The BZB coach was happy with the scoreline, but still wanted to change the lineup. After 46 minutes, Sławomir Bizoń came on for Yiorgos Vonortas. The BZB players could smell victory in the air. Andrzej Biegański wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Maciej Madaliński after 46 minutes. BZB increased the lead to 0 - 3 as Vladimir Timić scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in the top left corner. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 0 - 3. The forty-five minutes were dominated by BZB, with an impressive 53 percent possession of the ball.

Miško Bakrač performed admirably for Betos. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by Carlos Fernando Araníbar today. Most important BZB player was Lesław Misterek. Good thing Sławomir Bizoń isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance.
