Clear skies welcomed the 304 spectators who had made their way to sattori. Aad Hajer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Francesco Trevelin and William Robbiati. The match took place on neutral ground. The following players had been selected: Liik - Davoli, Cervetti, Tirigal Casté - Valtierra, Marín, Udobro, Santacreu, Medina - Perekhodov, Casper.

Lineup: Lalouf - Patiño, Salto, Utrilla - Riedel, Obertello, Altimiras, Garrillo, Porta - Guastavino, Piątkowski.

As the teams spread out over the pitch, it became clear that they would both be using a 3-5-2 formation today. Idaho took a creative approach on the field. Tomás Guastavino let loose a good shot after 2 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. Idaho's Anton Perekhodov tried to break through the middle repeatedly, but the visitors' defenders were just too alert. Idaho created a good opportunity to score 8 minutes into the game when Cris Udobro's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, but the visitors' defenders eventually won out. One of many good passes from Felipe Medina at the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by Allan Casper, scoring the 1 - 0 goal for Idaho. Mario Alberto Lalouf was caught napping as Marcelo Iván Cervetti lifted a ball over him following a free kick, but the ball hit the bar, rebounding into the keeper's arms. With 29 minutes played, Anton Perekhodov could have brought this one home for Idaho as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Idaho set the tempo, maintaining 55 percent of possession.

After 64 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by David Valtierra might have resulted in another goal for Idaho. However, Mario Alberto Lalouf made a spectacular save. The visitors' equalizer seemed inevitable after 81 minutes, following a one on one situation around the left hand side of the goal area, but Jüri Liik got the best of it, blocking the shot from Wiktor Piątkowski. Fortineras's coach was furious with Eduardo Utrilla after he picked up a yellow for saying one too many words to the ref. Fortineras leveled the score after 85 minutes to make it 1 - 1, as Wiktor Piątkowski struck home after a fine midfield combination through the middle left him completely unmarked. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 1 minutes as stoppage time. With no winner at the end of regulation, the match went into extra time. The Count appeared on the jumbotron and announced that Idaho had 54...54 percent possession. AH AH AH!

Idaho's David Valtierra was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposing area - Aleix Santacreu managed to kick one of them into the net for 2 - 1 after 94 minutes. Marcelo Iván Cervetti of Idaho received a yellow card after 112 minutes for unsportsmanlike behavior. Antonio Porta finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just over the home side's keeper, making the score 2 - 2 114 minutes into the game. After extra time, the game was still tied and a penalty kick shootout ensued.

Idaho's Anton Perekhodov proved he has nerves of steel from the penalty spot, changing the score to 3 - 2. Fortineras's Mario Alberto Lalouf kept his cool as he went up against Jüri Liik. His composure paid off as he scored easily for 3 - 3. Boy, does Allan Casper of Idaho know how to treat a ball or what?! He's bent that penalty right around the keeper! 4 - 3. Fortineras's Mauricio Gustavo Salto hesitated a long time before shooting. Maybe too long, as his penalty flew just wide of the left hand post. Still 4 - 3. That was really something! The crowd was awed by David Valtierra's perfectly placed shot for Idaho making it 5 - 3. Fortineras's Tomás Guastavino looked nervous on his walk from the center circle. He didn't take much of a run up, and his weak shot was easily saved by the keeper. Idaho's Juan Tirigal Casté didn't look like he was confident as he stepped up, and produced a badly struck penalty - right into the arms of Mario Alberto Lalouf. The score remained 5 - 3. Fortineras's Fermín Patiño made no mistake. Jüri Liik didn't have a chance. 5 - 4. Idaho's Cris Udobro was relaxed as he smoothly put the ball into the net. 6 - 4! The match ends 6 - 4. Idaho's top performer was clearly David Valtierra. Speaking of stinking up the place, Juan Tirigal Casté sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. Tomás Guastavino performed admirably for Fortineras. Good thing Oscar Lorenzo Garrillo isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance.
