fortin 2 - 3 Tandar.

Weather conditions were fairly good for soccer, and GUSTAVO CERATI saw a turnout of 1648. Waldemar de Groen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Josef Prettlack and Bernhard 'El General' Waldstein. The match took place on neutral ground. The following players took the field: Plew - Krafczyk, Keskinarkaus, Sântămărean - Uetersen, Nuutinen, Boancheş, Langseth, Acuña - Laxagueborde, Dańkowski.

Starters: Maceratesi - Quintana, de la Cueva, Vanucci - Pierzchalski, Menéndez, Pasquale, Peinado, Al-Maznai - Pacheco, Llanos.

The coaches were in sync today, as both teams lined up in a 3-5-2 formation. fortin mostly ignored the flanks in favor of their brilliant ability to attack in the middle. Tandar. had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 6 minutes in when Julio Llanos found himself alone with Wolfgang Plew who managed a block. fortin had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle instead. Juan Elías Laxagueborde's name was chanted throughout the stadium after his goal in minute 30 following a run up the middle gave fortin the 1 - 0 lead. Adam Pierzchalski raced down the wing after 35 minutes and managed to get through the defense, but he lost his footing and sent the cross out for a throw-in. Cheers filled the stadium as Marek Dańkowski broke through the visitors' central defense to put away the 2 - 0 goal for fortin. Ricardo Peinado could've grabbed a goal for Tandar. 37 minutes in when he got a pass from the left putting him free of the home side's defense, but he was unable to take advantage of the situation. 2 - 0 was the score after the first half. Tandar. did a good job holding on to the ball, with 60 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.

The bench was restless, and with 62 minutes gone Tandar.'s coach gave Simón Hidalgo the opportunity to try to change the team's fortunes. Sharaf Al-Maznai reluctantly left the field. Ricardo Peinado showed that Tandar. weren't done, putting the ball in the net after an opportunistic attack from the right side 69 minutes into the game. Robert Langseth brought the corner down with his chest before whipping it to Frithjof Uetersen who had the whole net open before him, but his attempt hit the post. A run up the right wing paid off for Tandar. as Santiago Nicolas Pacheco hit a wicked shot past the keeper to tie the game. 2 - 2 after 73 minutes. Given a free kick from an impossible angle, Tandar. went for a play that loyal fans may recognize from training. A square ball surprised the defense and let Julio Llanos slip through at goal. He hit it first time, making the score 2 - 3, 76 minutes into the game. After 78 minutes of game time, Javier Menéndez had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, hitting a cross from the right with a half volley, but Wolfgang Plew was in the right place and tipped the ball to a corner. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 1 minutes as stoppage time. The referee showed Tandar.'s Camel Quintana the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The match ends 2 - 3. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Tandar., with an impressive 59 percent possession of the ball.

fortin's top performer was clearly Juan Elías Laxagueborde. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because Marek Dańkowski seemed to stumble all over the pitch. Julio Llanos performed admirably for Tandar.. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by Víctor de la Cueva today.
