The local marching band welcomed a crowd of 1723 to Patio de Chacareras - Don Osvaldo Bayer. Cristian Moise was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Peer Lausberg and Paul Håkansson. The match took place on neutral ground. They fielded: Imbert - Molnár, Sloot, Giquel - Aristimuño, Jakarić, Aboutorabi, Papalia, Candia - Brandstrup, Dettelsau.

Lineup: Pedrosa - Fawaz, Jeppsson, Tutaev - Javanbakht, Bućko, Engel, Chrostek, Pabianek - Pires, Šćekić.

As the teams spread out over the pitch, it became clear that they would both be using a 3-5-2 formation today. 1886 CAVS showed off their creative tactics. Mihály Molnár really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great flick by Juan Ramón Aristimuño after a corner. Bilardo took the lead 14 minutes in, after Werner Dettelsau's awkward, but ultimately successful, shot from the right. 1 - 0. Despite hurting his right foot at the 15 minute mark, Piotr Pabianek decided to keep playing. 18 minutes into the game, Bilardo's Ulrich Brandstrup tried to nail the coffin shut, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Bilardo added another goal to their lead as Werner Dettelsau struck home for 2 - 0 after an attack from the left set him up unmarked in front of the keeper. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased Bilardo's lead to 3 - 0 as Werner Dettelsau finished it off clinically, firing the shot from a terrible angle. One, two, three goals! That completed a hattrick for Werner Dettelsau. AH! AH! AH! 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. The Count appeared on the jumbotron and announced that Bilardo had 57...57 percent possession. AH AH AH!

1886 CAVS's Emil Chrostek has the innate ability to create chances out of thin air. 49 minutes in he jumped up and tried a bicycle kick, knocking the ball straight past the keeper, resulting in the 3 - 1 goal. Mihály Molnár should probably have put his team up another goal after 58 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by Miguel Pedrosa kept the visitors in the game. 1886 CAVS had a fair chance to reply after 59 minutes due to some fine moves down the left, but in the end Piotr Pabianek was slow to keep up with the play and was unable to make it into the penalty box to apply a finish. A corner kick created massive confusion in the penalty area, with a near-goal by Dmitriy Tutaev. At last, 1886 CAVS's Fawaz Fawaz was able to will the ball into the net. 3 - 2. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Bilardo coach let Juan Luis Aribau come on for Ulrich Brandstrup after 77 minutes. It was announced by the fourth official that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 3 - 2. Bilardo did a good job holding on to the ball, with 56 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.

Ali Aboutorabi performed admirably for Bilardo. I can't remember Juan Ramón Aristimuño ever having a worse night than he just had. Most important 1886 CAVS player was Todor Šćekić. Speaking of stinking up the place, Piotr Pabianek sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham.
