MathFC 0 - 8 Pewsum

Weather conditions were fairly good for soccer, and Sxoleio saw a turnout of 3411. Patrik Bäckstad was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Danijel Sabljo and Shrivardhan 'Käpt'n' Kulkarni. The following players took the field: Paschalidis - Agrafiotis, Zouganelis, Fatsoulidis - Stathakis, Rothenburgsort, Tauchnitz - Kadoglou, Karapanos.

Lineup: Amieiro - Schofield, Henneghan, Richards - Sanders, Stoneking, Hassab El Naby, Truett, Siegel - Leduc, Kucherenko.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. The home team, Mathimatikoi F.C., went for a 3-3-2, while TuS Pewsum has decided to play a 3-5-2 lineup. MathFC saw most attack opportunities on the wings by using their solid ability to push the attack in the right direction. Maybe Bradley Truett should join the aquatics team instead. He went down dramatically after 5 minutes, crying out with agony as he fell. The referee was not impressed, though, and showed him a yellow for diving. Pewsum's Nick Sanders managed to lose the defenders as he burst through the right side and scored, putting the visitors ahead, 0 - 1. 20 minutes into the game, MathFC had difficulty finding their positions and their organization dropped to inadequate. With 24 minutes played, Pewsum put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Nikolay Kucherenko. The away team's Forrest Siegel took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 34 minutes increasing Pewsum's lead to 0 - 3. 0 - 3 was the score after the first half. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Pewsum, with an impressive 70 percent possession of the ball.

During the break, MathFC's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to solid organization. Nikolay Kucherenko increased the visitors' lead by volleying in a pass from the right. 0 - 4. After 51 minutes, Pewsum's Nikolay Kucherenko burst through the central defense and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 5. At that, Nikolay Kucherenko was noted down for a hattrick! After 54 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Léon Leduc who increased Pewsum's lead to 0 - 6. 60 minutes into the game, MathFC seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to poor. Given a free kick from a ways out after 62 minutes, Pewsum sent an arching ball into the penalty box. It was headed clear, but Corey Stoneking was waiting just outside the area and fired it home to make it 0 - 7. Forrest Siegel of Pewsum received a yellow card after 65 minutes for unsportsmanlike behavior. The referee showed Pewsum's Naguib Hassab El Naby the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The visitors' Xayvion Henneghan took advantage of a mix-up between the home side's goalie and center backs 73 minutes into the match. 0 - 8 for Pewsum. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 0 - 8. The Count appeared on the jumbotron and announced that Pewsum had 79...79 percent possession. AH AH AH!

The most outstanding MathFC player was without a doubt Nikolaos Zouganelis. Speaking of stinking up the place, Stelios Paschalidis sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. Pewsum's best player was Xayvion Henneghan. I can't remember Gaylord Schofield ever having a worse night than he just had.
