Clear skies welcomed the 1809 spectators who had made their way to Spätzles-Arena. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Manuel Salinas Malagamba. Gentlemen prefer blondes and Schwäbisch prefers a 3-5-2. Let's see how this plays out for them. Lineup: Kutyło - Biehl, Veckenstedt, Morell - Freiler, Bernhart, Kancsó, Kirlum, Valmoggia - van der Maar, Fibicher.

The head coach flashed hand signals from the sideline and Hackedicht formed up in a 4-5-1 combination. Let's hope the opposing sideline wasn't filming that. They fielded: Croe - Pasterz, Lochwebers, Pils, Juanals - Krinke, Gindert, Gressel, Krummer, Rahn - Ødegård.

The 10 minute mark saw the home team take a 1 - 0 lead after a breaking through on the left. The scorer for Schwäbisch was Jochem van der Maar. After 14 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Hackedicht found themselves out of position and their organization level dropped to solid. Was it the hair gel? Was it a gift from the gods? Either way, the faithful won't care. Soaring like a Saturn V, Tullio Valmoggia somehow got his head on a Joakim Fibicher moonshot from the corner and buried it in the back of the net. What grace! What power! Plant the flag for Schwäbisch, Neil Armstrong! The score is now 2 - 0. Cheers filled the stadium as Frederic David Morell broke through the visitors' central defense to put away the 3 - 0 goal for Schwäbisch. Confident in their lead, Schwäbisch's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. 35 minutes in, Hackedicht appeared unsure on how to play and their organization was only passable. Schwäbisch added another goal to their lead as Joakim Fibicher struck home for 4 - 0 after an attack from the left set him up unmarked in front of the keeper. There was concern in the stands when, at the 40 minute mark, Schwäbisch's Tullio Valmoggia hit the ground hard, but with the help of the trainer's magic spray, he rejoined his teammates on the field. Joakim Fibicher could have put Schwäbisch up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 41 minutes. 4 - 0 was the halftime score. Schwäbisch did a good job holding on to the ball, with 80 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.

The Hackedicht coach might have gone through a whole marker putting the playbook up on the board, but it seemed to have worked, with the team regaining a solid organization for the second half. The Schwäbisch players could smell victory in the air. Jochem van der Maar wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Timo Eilders after 48 minutes. 49 minutes had passed when Schwäbisch put themselves up 5 - 0 after the visiting defenders lost the ball to Joakim Fibicher, who came up from the left and proceeded to easily go around the goalkeeper and knock the ball home. Philibert Freiler gave Schwäbisch supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 6 - 0 after 50 minutes, following a good exchange of passes on the right that the away team failed to deal with. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Hackedicht's Helmut 'Der Boss' Rahn got himself booked. Arne Kirlum had put in a good 75 minutes and left the field with a smile on his face due to his team's lead. Blaž Saša was the replacement. As the captain was no longer on the field, Joakim Fibicher took over the role for Schwäbisch. Things were going from bad to worse for the visitors. Casper Biehl was able to squirm through the central defense after 83 minutes and score, bringing the lead to 7 - 0. Timo Eilders let loose a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Schwäbisch coach let Martin Čechlovský come on for Joakim Fibicher after 85 minutes. With Joakim Fibicher no longer on the field, Blaž Saša stepped up to be the new set pieces taker. Martin Čechlovský was handed the Schwäbisch captain's armband. 86 minutes into the match, Hackedicht's Rüdiger Krinke demonstrated his running prowess as he raced past his defender and passed the ball to Karl-Aksel Ødegård who chipped it in for 7 - 1. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Schwäbisch's Frederic David Morell bringing the lead up to 8 - 1. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Schwäbisch would have 80 percent possession in this half was spot on!

Schwäbisch's top performer was clearly Timo Eilders. Speaking of stinking up the place, Robert Kutyło sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. Karl-Aksel Ødegård performed admirably for Hackedicht. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because Gunnar Croe seemed to stumble all over the pitch. The match ends 8 - 1.
