SCS 3 - 1 Mammut

Clear skies welcomed the 2765 spectators who had made their way to Old Trafford. Teodoro Ulrych was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Jeremy Kat. The match took place on neutral ground. After thorough analysis and consultation of astrological charts, SCS decided to go with a 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Volarević - Ollonen, Hammer, Giry - Manzano, Gayrat Uulu, Kavelashvili, Hadad, Samh - Basset, Polunin.

Gentlemen prefer blondes and Mammut prefers a 2-5-3. Let's see how this plays out for them. They fielded: Widhalm - Albano, Schmidts - Thorhauge, Morera, Schindelar, Eben, Wück - Aranguren, Giannitrapani, Laber.

With 22 minutes played Arthur Giry almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. Seytikul Gayrat Uulu seemed to be defying gravity as he elegantly headed in a goal for SCS after a corner kick that was nicely executed by Mousa Hadad. That makes it 1 - 0. They weren't going to win with their current game plan, so the Mammut coach told his players how to change things up 25 minutes in. The Mammut players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. SCS solidified their lead at the 32 minute mark, as Artem Polunin snaked the ball through the central line of defense and finished for 2 - 0. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. The Count appeared on the jumbotron and announced that Mammut had 51...51 percent possession. AH AH AH!

Cheers filled the stadium as Artem Polunin broke through the visitors' central defense to put away the 3 - 0 goal for SCS. After 57 minutes, Raul Albano came close to reducing the gap with a free kick aimed near the left post, but Tarzan Volarević warded the ball off for a corner. Keylor Morera nearly reduced the lead 58 minutes into the game, but a splendid one-handed save by Tarzan Volarević put an end to the play coming in from the right flank. SCS had a great opportunity to score following a counter-attack after 59 minutes, but Ahuizótl Manzano's shot from the left sailed high over the bar. Mammut fought on, and after 64 minutes, Burkhart 'Wirbelwind' Wück was able to increase the goal tally to 3 - 1 after some excellent moves on the right side were finished off with a smart lob. The SCS coach was happy with the scoreline, but still wanted to change the lineup. After 70 minutes, Hendrik Schwendner came on for Arthur Giry. There was concern in the stands when, at the 75 minute mark, SCS's Mousa Hadad hit the ground hard, but with the help of the trainer's magic spray, he rejoined his teammates on the field. SCS's Artem Polunin wanted to play on, but after 89 minutes the decision was made to give Karsten Sternschanze a chance in his place. Mammut did a good job holding on to the ball, with 53 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.

Most important SCS player was Jalil Samh. I can't remember Hendrik Schwendner ever having a worse night than he just had. Georg 'Quälix' Schindelar performed admirably for Mammut. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because Ansfried 'Adlerauge' Widhalm seemed to stumble all over the pitch. The match ends 3 - 1.
