Youths & U20

It's quite common to read in the National forum that a fantastic player has almost no U20 chances due to "bad days" or that he could have been better trained but few managers know how to run a Youth Academy creating a lot of U20 players.
I'm trying to bring you my opinions with the help and supervision of regia5, former India U20 coach and current NT World Champion with Norge.

In Hattrick India is a little country, there are few managers and few of them are active and experienced.

With this article I would like to let you know that your Youth Academy can help India U20 to be more successful and can grant you a lot of money considering that a potential U20 player has a far bigger price than a similar player with no U20 chances.

1) AGE/DAYS

One of the most important thing is to focus on age/days.

In U20 in fact any player can play just until he's 21 years old, from that day he won't be able to play again.
For this reason usually coaches like more to use players eligible to play all the qualification matches (14) or maybe almost all (11/12/13) and a fantastic player could never feature for U20 just because he's able to play just 2 qualification matches.

India had a fantastic run 2 seasons ago under regia5 management but it's more probable that doesn't play in the World Cup, for this reason all the foreign managers will pay bigger prices for players eligible to play the WCQ and not the WC.

How to know how many matches a player can play? Simply take a look at this site: (http://www.ht-world.org/global/u20age.php)

You can easily read there how many games your youth will be able to play in future.

2) WHAT TO DO

When you call a scout to find a new player I always say to hire ANY 15y guy. Even if he's raw if he has a good potential he'll become good.
A 17y is too old, a 16y is ok just if with good skills and potential.

When you have him in the team take a look at years/days and check if he has a good age (with the site linked before).

Give priority (regarding training) to the players with best age and to the top talents and try to find a training that is good for almost all of them.

If you already have in your team 2 defenders (for example) when you look for new players try to find other defenders (or compatible players) so that you'll be able to train better your guys.

For any interesting player that you pull in the academy go in the National forum here (13754801.1) and copy his skills and your doubt (if you have any).

Other people will help you in anything you need to know :)

3) BENEFITS

India has a strong community and in the last seasons after a U20 World Cup great run (until round III) we also won the World Cup organization.

But not anyone is interested in U20/NT, what I want to point out is that even if you don't care about it creating potential U20 players you'll gain more money so it's a big advantage anyway.

More than that, if you're a proud manager and you would like the idea to train yourself your U20 prospect in this way you'll be able to do it.

In case don't forget to update global tracker (http://www.ht-world.org/global/scouting.php) and contact U20 coach (don't forget that any 2 seasons there are new elections so the coach can be different).
