Interview with the users from Liga Pilipinas

There are many users who are dreaming to play in the first division in a country, in Hattrick. Now, we are talking about Philippines, where we have 7 out of players in the first division, Liga Pilipinas (11429).

I ask them a few questions about the way they are preparing their matches and other things.

Let's find out together how it feels being in the first division. :)

viracer (10447204)

1. How do you use to prepare a match?

First, I check the ratings of my opponent for the last few matches.
Second, I check my players (form, injuries, cards).
Now I try few formations, beginning with 3-5-2. In many cases, it fits best to my available players.
Last step is the orientation of my players. This is quite much depended to my opponents skills.

2. What is your "ritual" of analyzing the opponents?

Actually, there is none.

3. How much time do you spend on sending the orders?

It's a matter of not more than 15 minutes.

4. Do you change often your strategy in the last moments/minutes?

No, never.

5. Do you use any CHPP programs who can help you in Hattrick? If yes, which one and why?

In my first years here, I used Hattrick Organizer. I skipped it the moment HT lunched the rating prediction.

6. Are you a fan of having substitutions in your matches? If so, why (stamina, formation change, etc)?

In general not, because I am too lazy. But for special matches like Cup finals, Masters and so on I certainly do. In these cases, I use substitutions mainly to push defense or attack in dependence on the score.

7. Which advices could you offer to the readers of Hattrick Press in preparation of their matches?

Do not look too much what the opponent will play. Better look what fits best to your team and the players you have ready.

1. I usually study with great attention the previous matches of my opponent, trying to understand the best way to play.

2. I look at the previous evaluations, also if I prefer to think that the other has to find a way to defeat me! :-)

3. Usually I need ten minutes on Saturdays.

4. Not often, since usually, after the training, it's already all clear.

5. Yes, I use Hattrick Organizer, because I can conserve a lot of data and I can study easily the opponents.

6. Yes,I use substitutions according to stamina, form, the result of the match, possible red cards, etc...

7. Try to study carefully the opponent and the best way to make result! And, if you play vs viracer (10447204), start making a prayer! :-P

1. For analyzing a match, I start, of course, by checking the form of my own players, then I begin studying a little bit my next opponent and, considering my future matches, I try to decide about my attitude for that match - if I should PIC, PIN or MOS.

2. Speaking about the opponents, I follow their forms, the stamina, (yellow or red) cards, specialties and what they are playing often, by checking their line-ups. Of course, just as my team, I am checking their matches to see what attitude I am expecting from their side.

3. In the past, I tried to study as much as possible the matches, but now the time isn't that friendly with me, so I am dedicating less time on this.

4. No, never. Once I analyzed the match, I won't change the orders.

5. No, generally speaking, I am not using any CHPP program.

6. Honestly, I don't use that much these options, only sometimes, when I think that I should change a little bit the aspect of the match, by using an offensive order. From time to time, I also change the system/formation into the match.

7. From my point of view, an important aspect in Hattrick is to have as many available formations as possible (3-5-2, 2-5-3, etc), by that you can be unpredictable for your opponent. It is good, in this way, to be able using 14/15 available players at any moment. Unfortunately, talking about me, I lost this unpredictability in the last period. Especially because I have less time that I can dedicate for Hattrick, just as I said into the past.

1. & 2. First, I check out my team. Forms, injuries, red cards, so I know who will be able to play and which tactics I am able to play.

I do the same with my opponent. Good thing is to check the injuries after the last Friday, so you can be sure injured player won't be ready for your match. Another useful thing, when playing league matches, is to check the forms before and after the training update. This way you know forms of which players dropped/raised and thus which sector will be weaker/stronger.

Then I open few last matches of my opponent, at least 5 of them, with distinction between league and cup matches. Be careful here! I know that even more experienced managers look at the average ratings at the bottom of the match report. This values were never fully valid due to substitutions, stamina, etc., but with the introduction of the new dynamic pullback, this values can be really misleading. You want to go for the rating from 0th minute. Match predictor shows you your ratings in 0th minute, so you want to compare to your opponents 0th minute.

At the match reports I also check substitutions if there is any pattern (for example when leading by two, always switching from 3-5-2 to 4-5-1), specialties of players, tactics and their level, stamina and I try to guess whether PIC or MOTS was played.

It is also good to look at the matches your opponent is yet going to play. If he faces for example super strong team in cup, it is more possible he will focus his strength and TS on you in the league. In more important matches it is good idea to estimate what even your opponents next opponent is going to play.

This gives me rough idea of what I'm going to play, because most of the teams, especially in lower divisions, play the same all the time. If your opponent is more unpredictable and uses variety of formations, you have to try to read him and guess which tactic he will play. Than I try to adjust my setup the best way I can to match my opponents setup.

3. Easier matches take from 5 to 10 minutes, while important matches against strong teams can take up to one hour of my time when preparing.

4. No, because the matches are played early in the morning and I don't like to wake up early. :-) But I check weather after midnight and sometimes make some change accordingly.

5. Yes. FoxTrick mainly, it has many useful tools, I cannot imagine my HT life without it. I also use some websites - (http://www.ht-tools.eu/), (http://www.htev.org/), (http://www.ht-arena.com/).

6. Yes. My team is rather old so I have to substitute low stamina players. I use change of formation only occasionally, I'm more fan of changing individuals orders, for example switching WO to WTM when leading.

7. Check your opponents ratings from 0th minute, not the average ones. Try to be unpredictable. And manage your TS right.
