Swans Grilled

Possibly illegal, but in this case it’s Broxi, manager of Swansea City 2 and current Wales U20 manager who gets put under the spotlight with a few questions from the Ed.

Starting with the obvious one - what got you interested in Hattrick and how long have you been playing?

My brother who lives in Scotland got me interested in Hattrick nearly 7yrs ago and now its part of the family.…

I notice you’ve just been relegated from the top flight. Do you think you have the team to bounce straight back?

Not too sure about this one, I made a mistake of using MoTS on last game of season thinking a win was enough but lost out on GD. The team is good enough to bounce back but not sure if I want too atm...

What’s more important - winning the league, winning the cup, a successful U20 team?

None of the three, its all about enjoying and participating in a computer game, if any of the three come along then its a bonus (wow, good answer. That’ll teach me to try and catch him out - Ed)

Are there any changes you would like to see made in Hattrick?

Only the obvious, a decrease to the prices on supporter, thus allowing more users to enjoy the add-ons as well as keeping their interest in the game..

And the next question has to be what is your favourite pizza topping?

Pepperoni (good choice, love a meaty pizza myself - Ed)

So you’re U20 manager. What made you want to do it and how do you think it’s going?

Its was something I was contemplating on doing a few seasons back,as I was losing interest with my team and needed another distraction but lost out on vote and decided to put more effort into my team.

I notice a lot of forum posts relating to the U20 team. Did you introduce this or has it always been a thing for the Wales U20 manager?

It's something that was there when I first started playing but due to lack of community participation it got fewer and fewer. I brought it back this season in the hope I would generate more of the community to get involved.

Another obvious one - any plans for ditching the U20 and going for the Welsh senior team?

No, but the truth be known I reckon it would be a lot easier to manage the NT than doing the U20's job.. (are you reading this senior team manager? Would you like the right to reply? Contact me directly - Ed)

I’m just starting up a welsh 2nd team. What’s the best way I can help get an U20 player? Any specific position?

The best way and the cheap way is through your youth team, ideally the perfect player would be promoted on his 17th birthday and have at least a Solid in a specific skill as well as the ideal spec and train, train and train. It takes time and dedication to produce an U20's player but the rewards are fulfilling..

Real Life questions - I'm guessing you support Swansea City (correct me if I'm wrong) but I have noticed you have Clyde & Rangers down as favourites too, what’s the connection there?

lol. I suppose I must reveal my true colours. Yes, I support Swansea City solely for the reason that I have lived in Swansea for nearly 20 years, but the Rangers connection goes by me being Scottish and they are my No1 team. As for the Clyde, I watched them when my father supported them and he still does along with my brother. (hey, don’t knock the guy, the editor lives in Oxfordshire - Ed)

After dropping to the bottom of the table after yesterdays defeat can Swansea City stay in the Premier League?

Its not impossible but its highly unlikely. The money men have bled the club of success by not replacing players (a thing I've learned playing hattrick - sell and replace with younger but better). It could go all the way to last game of the season away to Sunderland, just like Saturday 3rd May 2003 at home to Hull, win to survive...

And finally I appeared to have missed the question on everyone’s lips - what is your favourite alcoholic beverage?

anything above 3% especially on a U20's game night.

Thanks Broxi, some great answers there. Remember anyone can volunteer for interviews or submit articles with a welsh basis. You can even interview someone in the same series as you (it doesn’t have to b me doing the interviews). All contributions welcome.
