Oman's first Hattrick meeting!

I'm going to tell you about the first Hattrick meeting of Oman which took place on the 15th of July 2009. This is from my side of the story but that doesn't really matter as it will tell you all you need to know about this great and successful meeting.

We have decided to to arrange a meeting at Costa Coffee at the Muscat City Centre at 7:30 PM on the 15th of July 2009. I got good responses from the users and 6 out of 40 users said that they were going to attend this meeting which I would say is not bad at all. Although it could have been more but some others couldn't attend since they were out of the country for their summer holiday.

The day has come and I went to City Centre waiting for my cousin Suhaib at 6:25 PM. I got an SMS from BAFARI saying that he's going to arrive in 20 minutes with his cousin Haithem, I went to check with my old classmate Alkubaisy and he was still at home and getting ready for the meeting, while OmaniMilani said that he will be there precisely at 7:30 PM, the time which the meeting will officially start.

The thing is, OmaniMilani also told me that he will be the last one to arrive, minutes later he called me and asked me if I was there, I was surprised, he was waiting and hiding as it seems and he came really fast though. I found Suhaib and we were on our way to meet OmaniMilani, and then OmaniMilani was looking at us although we didn't know how he looked like. While we were going inside Costa, I found someone laughing with the phone on his ear, and I knew it was him. We sat there and had a nice chat while we were waiting for the others to arrive.

OmaniMilani thought I was wearing a golden-coloured dishdasha (traditional Omani clothe), as before I arrived, the guy who was wearing that dishdasha had his phone ring at the same time OmaniMilani called me, and that guy picked up his phone the same time I picked up my phone, although that wasn't me and I was in another place, it made OmaniMilani think that was me. But that's what I call perfect synchronisation as it happened in the same time.

BAFARI came in and joined us with his cousin Haithem. While Alkubaisy was the last one to arrive, he also reminds me when we were young during school days, those days were great. Now since we were all there, BAFARI removes the poster from the big envelope, the poster had all the Hattrick information about the attendees including our logos. BAFARI also made extra copies of those poster so everyone can have a copy of it.

We all signed on the poster under our team logos and we all wrote a short comment in the back of the posters, everybody wrote their comments, sadly I can't express my feelings of this great day, so I wrote a short comment, yes, I was speechless!

As for the small posters, a smaller version of the original poster, we began signing on each others posters as if we were signing a contract or something, all eyes were on us and people looked curious about what we were doing, even the waiter asked me what is this all about, and I just told him to join Hattrick, maybe we could see him someday. The waiter also admired OmaniMilani's logo since he seemed to be a Milan fan.

Alkubaisy had his laptop with him, I thought he brought it because he missed Hattrick, but it seemed he had something else to do. Although he couldn't resist it, he logged on to Hattrick later on.

On the hand, we had some nice drinks, I ordered hot chocoloate, yummy. Nothing better than being hot, same for Suhaib in this case. OmaniMilani ordered something weird, Frescato or whatever they call it. BAFARI and Haithem are healthy guys, I don't know what they drank but had something to do with fruits, I guess. Sehha shabab!

We had a nice chat, discussed a few things, we talked about the NT/U20, our team's future, and even about the 4 teams that were botified in Al-Dawry Al-Omani. I also expressed my team's future and said I'm going for the cup next season even though I know my chances of winning are still slim, and OmaniMilani was also talking with BAFARI about the match he lost against him earlier in the season. BAFARI also said that he has to promote to Al-Dawry Al-Omani after waiting so long since his last promotion.

I also suggested that it would be cool if we could watch the cup matches live there all together with Alkubaisy's laptop next season. It could be a possibility for our future meetings. We could probably play the "Match Of The Season" board game some time too.

I guess that's all what I can say about this great meeting, it also feels good to play and compete against people we've met in real life.
