Ultimate Guide to Setting up a Club

Starting Hattrick can be tough. As long as you follow some simple steps you can achieve and within a couple of seasons be climbing the league ladder. If you want to know how you can do the best to set up and start winnning read on.

There are a few key points that need to be taken to make sure you set up your team properly as long as you follow these you should be fine.

1). Set up a training regime. Below I will briefly describe how to do this:

Firstly you need a coach. What you should do is go to the 'Training' page under my Club. Select change coach, then recruit external coaches. You don't need to have any leadership on your coach when you first start up, although later leadership can be key and important for regulating Team Spirit. So select Poor leadership (which is the lowest). Then select either Passable or Solid trainer skill, I suggest Passable as it is cheaper and a Solid coach isn't necessary at the moment and not worth spending more money on.

Also make sure you set the Stamina Share at 5-12%, any figure in this region is fine. Always leave Training Intensity at 100%.

Now we need to buy trainees. But we also need to decide which skill to train, I believe the best skills for a new player to train are Goalkeeping or Playmaking either of these is fine. Also other skills like Defending, Winger and Scoring can be good but I believe the first 2 will add more to your team and generate the best profit. We need to buy the maximum number of trainees the position will allow you. If you play a friendly as well as a league game every week this means you can have 2 sets of trainees. So you can have 2 Goalkeeping slots, 10 Defending, 6 Playmaking (+ 4 Wingers at 50%), 4 Wingers (+ 4 Wing Backs at 50%) and 6 Scorers. I think the best skill and age combination for trainees is 17 year old passable main skill, and any speciality and secondary skill you can buy with is a bonus. Although they will be important when you start climbing the leagues.

The best way to maximise profit is to train players to at least Brilliant, then either sell or keep.

2). Organise your squad.

When you first get your squad, keep all the players that have inadequate or above main skill (ie Goalkeeping, Defending, Winger or Scoring). All the others you can start to fire or sell. Remember in Dhivehi Raajje any young player with potential will sell for a lot so keep that mind. Once you have your trainees you can start worrying about spending money on other areas of your squad, for non-training areas try not to buy young players as this will increase the value.

3). Open a Youth Academy.

Youth Academie's are a great source of income, especially in Dhivehi Raajje. As I said earlier all young prospects will sell for higher prices than other nationality players. Keeping things brief on Youth Academy information I recommend you hire 3 scouts, and accept from the first 2 if they are 15 years old and can reach passable in a skill. Always take the 3rd scouts offer. Also, concentrate on your best player and if other players training fit in with that then it's great. It's better to produce one star than several mediocre players. 4). Other things to do.

There are a lot of things that can benefit you in Hattrick. Whilst keeping basic I recommend doing the following. Hire 2 spokesmen from your Staff page, spokesmen generate income for the club, and the general rule of thumb is 1 spokesmen for every 250 fans. Hire 5 Assistant Coaches and 1 GK coach, if you train an outfield skill or the other way round if you train Goalkeeping. Make sure you arrange a friendly every week, as this doubles the amount of training you can do. Spend some time on your Youth Academy - It is a really good source for income, and acts as another team. So make sure you join a Youth league!

5). Things not to do.

There are some things that can hamper your success in Hattrick. Don't look to increase your arena too early. It's thought among new players that the bigger your stadium, the more people will watch - This is wrong. The amount of spectators at a match depends on the amount of fans and their mood (if fans are happy they will watch!) and also the weather (do you enjoy watching football more in the rain or sun?). When you start filling your stadium on a regular basis this is the time to upgrade your arena.

Don't train a different skill every week. This will produce no effect on your team whatsoever, it's best to stick to a skill and train it.

Don't buy players until you have your full quota of trainees. Also generally look to upgrade each player by at least 2 skill levels when buying new players.
