How I Became A Hattrick Addict.

I bet a lot of you guys, like me, before you started playing Hattrick, were playing at least one other online or browser-based game, Am I right?

Before I met Hattrick, the only other online game which could keep me interested, was Travian.

For 3 years, Travian was everything for me. Every night, I went to bed with lots of worry about my account and whatever may happen to it while I was sleeping. Every morning I woke up after having nightmares that I had lost my account, and before I even washed my face, I jumped behind my computer, pressed the power button and I checked my account to make sure it was OK. I couldn’t do anything else.

Until a little incident changed everything.

Yes…you guessed correct, I met Hattrick.

Before I met Hattrick, I was a Travian addict, playing in all of the Iranian servers and some of international servers (.com) filled all of my time and playing this much made me aggressive and angry all the time. My life was getting out of its normal routine, and no matter what I did, I couldn't get back to the way it was before. This was going so far that I spent a whole summer playing the game without even leaving the house once.

Two years passed like this, until I discovered Hattrick.

Hattrick was a lot different to Travian. First of all, you don’t need to be online 24/7 to succeed in Hattrick, and secondly spending real money has no effect on the success you have in the game. These two features were enough to make me interested in trying the game.

Because of my addiction to Travian, I was spending most of my time online. I was spending about 14 hours per day online playing Travian, and because of my membership in the Travian team of Iran, and my obligations as a team member, these hours were increasing each day, and whenever I had a little free time between playing Travian, I spent that time reading educational articles about Hattrick, which with the help of active users of Iran's community most of them were translated to Persian and were available for me to read.

When I first start playing Hattrick (which was about 6 years ago) the Iranian forums of Hattrick were not as active as they are now. Almost no one from my country was participating in the forums of Hattrick. The amount of active users was below 300, and even these active members were gathered around in another Iranian forum outside of Hattrick. Today I can say with confidence, one of the main reason for me staying in Hattrick was the friendships which I made in that forum.

Over time, the more I get familiar with Hattrick and its incredible features, I got more and more excited and more eager to play Hattrick, and at the same time, I was losing my interest in Travian more and more each day.
I gave away all of my Travian accounts to my friends and only kept one account and tried to get used to having only one account.
It was very hard for me at first, from playing 14 hours each day, I forced myself to play only 4 hours a day and no more. And of course reducing the amount of playing this much had its own psychological impacts on me, and I was very confused and frustrated all the time, and it always felt like there was a hole in my life and that there was something missing.

And it was Hattrick which was filling that hole.

One hour a week was more than enough for playing Hattrick, and there was no need to spend the huge amount of money which Travian made me pay to buying gold so I could succeed in playing Travian. And on top of that, the game was very interesting and exciting.

Even though at first glance it seemed like the game is on pause, and it starts only when the league and friendly matches were in progress, but when you spend more time on the site, you realise no matter what time in the week it is, there is always something to do, e.g. waiting hours in the market for the deadline of a certain player to buy, and analyzing the opponents teams over and over and following their smallest activities to predict their decisions for the line up of the upcoming match.

Besides that, your opponent in the game were not robots created by computers, they were human players like yourself, which means that when your team scored a goal in the games, you can imagine their face getting angry when they are staring at their monitor watching the game, and it doubles your happiness for scoring the goal and winning the match.
Especially when your opponent is one of your closest friends, which in that case a simple winning or losing of the game, becomes something extremely important for you, because you know if you lose that game, you will be bullied by your friend forever. (at least that was what happened to me )

Most important of all, if in your real life you always felt like you can be a better coach than Jose Mourinho but you didn't get the chance, Hattrick will allow you to test your coaching skills, and you can get to feel that incredible feeling you get when you see all that time and effort you spent planning for your team has finally paid off and your team is successful in its chosen path.

Finally my motivation for playing Travian was gone.. a game which not only took a lot of my time, but also succeeding in that game without paying real money was near impossible.

I was getting used to Hattrick so much, that one day I realized I hadn’t visited Travian for a very long time. From then on, Travian had given its place in my life to Hattrick.

And today I can say with pride, that I’m a Hattrick addict.

Besides entertaining me, Hattrick has taught me a lot of things.
The most important thing that I learned from Hattrick was the fact that every little decision I make today, can have a serious impact on my future, whether it’s a little decision I make for a virtual team in a website, or every little decision that I make everyday in my real life which I get to see the result of in the future.

And also, Hattrick taught me to be patient. It taught me that even though waiting and not getting any significant result at first might be very hard and insufferable, if I am patient and have a good plan, when the time comes, no one can stand between me and my goals.

And at the end, nothing is more important than to have friends whom you can count on to always be there for you, whether it’s when you are successful and you want to share your happiness with them, or when you are losing time after time, and nothing like their kind words and warm support can get you back in a good mood. And Hattrick is one of the best places in world for finding the best friends in the world.

I’d like all of you to receive the "+3000 joined my circle of friends" achievement, because at the end, that is all that matters.

Kindest regards
