I think we're set in that position. Darmian can also play at left back other than Shaw, Rojo and Blind.. So I think this isn't a great idea. I love the guy but we've moved on. Unless we're selling Blind and Rojo I think it's not really an option IMO.

So latest news on Schneiderlin and Depay is that they can leave if the right offer comes.

United already rejected an offer from West Brom on Schneiderlin.

I think its good for everyone if he leaves. I just hope we have a buy-back clause when we sell him. He could become great if given matches and it would be good to see him leave on good terms. But right now the competition at the club is too tough for him. He is competing with Martial and Rashford for a place basically and.. well, they're just better on the left.

Schneiderlin to Everton official:

I'm sorry that we sold him, but at the same time I am glad to see that we managed to get a decent amount of money (£22-24mil mentioned). I remember that in the last seasons we had a bad habit of selling our players for peanuts (Nani, Rafael) or very much under the buying price (Di Maria), so it is a step forward that we are actually requesting higher sums for our players. Same goes for Depay, we allegedly rejected a bid from Lyon.

All the best to Morgan Schneiderlin, I think Everton got themselves a very good player, they needed someone like that. I wish we sold Fellaini and kept Schneiderlin, but I doubt someone would pay over £12-13 for him, let alone £22mil.

At least we won't have to write Schneiderlin's long surname often on this forum....
Now we only need to sell Schweinsteiger and our keyboards will last longer :)

I think you've got to factor in the 'inflation' in prices that came about with the new TV money. In relative terms I think we're getting less than we paid, but still it's a good deal for both in the current market.

I don't really mind keeping Fellaini. Jose seems to understand his qualities better than others and I think we'll see him used well more often than not. He can be a good impact player for us and it seems like he is happy to play a minor role for us and stays professional so I don't really see a problem with having him in the squad.

During the last minutes of games he can be useful against teams that drop very deep to open up space for others and/or just score goals himself. So far at United he's scored way too few goals but I think that's mainly because we haven't used him in the right position. It's like with Rooney in recent years - he's been playing a different role and not been doing what he does best. Recently I think he has done better again because he is used in his best position. Whether he'll get back to his absolute best is another question but I think he is useful once again instead of a burden to others.

As for the prices - I think Jose has played it well in the media. Letting other clubs know that we have players available but that we'd be happy to keep them as we have a packed schedule. I think he wouldn't play them much more than he did in the autumn but perhaps he can fool a few others into thinking that we aren't under any pressure to sell(which in terms of money we aren't but in terms of player happiness perhaps we are).

At least we won't have to write Schneiderlin's long surname often on this forum....

Mkhitaryan?

Henrihk is is first name, and Henrik is a common Danish first name. The English version is Henry.

Edit: I remember his name as M-K-hita-Ryan.

I have no clue how to pronounce it, but I can spell it that way. :p

Now I had a look and you didn't write correctly his first name anyway. I was far from being right to remember his last name but first name at least I got correct. :)

The h at the end of Henrikh is after k, not before it.

It's quite easy for me for some reason.

I think it's great to have such a character in the team. Someone who is good enough to be able to call himself such names while it isn't really funny because they're half-true :).

Pogba is somewhat comparable IMO as he seems to talk big as well but can also back it up with good performances. I like that.

As for the Liverpool game - I feel confident but at the same time I feel it's a game where anything can happen and it's kind of pointless to expect too much. I do expect us to win because we have a strong 11 who are going to battle and most of them are likely to win their individual battles. I'm only worried about how our defense is going to cope with their attackers movement. I'd sure love to have Bailly play in this game, I think he is made for such games. With both Jones and Rojo I have a feeling they can undone by pacy attackers. But in midfield we should be stronger than them and in attack I feel that our three are much better than their back four.

I feel we are favorites, but really anything can happen in these games.

I don't know whether to like the fact that most people see us as favorites, as it puts pressure on our players. However, maybe it is good as they will go into the game with the idea of attacking and a need to bring 3 points.

If we don't win this game, our latest run of good games will be somewhat diminished. Lots of ABU's are saying that we are on a good run only because we had an easy schedule (maybe they forgot that we beat the Spurs among others), but beating their beloved Liverpool will prove them utterly wrong. The most important thing is the direct encounter, so not only 3 points but 6 (in a way). If we beat them, we are only 2 points from reaching them on the table. Moreover, if would be a big boost for us and a huge blow for them, which might affect also their confidence for next games. So, let's hammer them :)

Concerning the team, I'd like Mourinho to start with these 11:

------------De Gea-------------
Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Shaw
------------Carrick--------------
--------Herrera, Pogba--------
--Mkhitaryan---------Martial--
---------Ibrahimovic---------

It would be a good surprise factor if Shaw started, in case he is completely ready.
I think he is our best left back and I frankly don't know why is Mourinho keeping him out of the team. I hope it is only to make him work harder and get better, to be completely prepared (like he did with Mkhitaryan).

However, I feel Blind will start at LB and I fear Lingard might also start this game.

Dunno about Rooney and whether he should start. Somehow I'd like him to score his 250th goal against Liverpool, but I am not sure he is our best option at the moment.
Also about Mata, he is a sweet player and often changes the game for us, but should we sacrifice Miki or Martial in order to start Mata or Rooney? Said that, I think Rooney will start and Martial will be on the bench. Maybe Lingard will also start and Miki will be benched. Is it good? I don't think so. Will Mourinho do that? I don't know.

Nah, Jose puts out his best team today :).

I'm only worried about Darmian because he just isn't that good. I would've probably preferred Blind as his passing is better and as they're going to press us his ability on the ball would've come handy. Besides I don't think he would have trouble defensively as he isn't playing against Adama Traore today :).

But overall I think the team picks itself right now - Rooney just hasn't done enough to warrant a place and while Mata has done well I think we just have better options right now.

3-0 for Everton, yay!

Wow, this is actually almost the team I wanted to start!

It hasn't happened for a while...

Only Shaw is missing.

Everton started this day very nice with a 4-0 victory over City, so let's continue in the same fashion :)
